General Pattern of Investment

CSERS tries to invest its funds as prudently as possible and also within the framework of Bombay Public Trusts Act Guidelines. At the same time it invests its funds in high yield Government Securities and Fixed Deposits of Scheduled Banks.

Financial Statements

Based on the Annual Report for the financial year ending on 31st March 2024, following documents can be sent to any person on request:
  • The Schedule of Investment (Schedule A and Schedule B)
  • The Balance Sheet.
  • Income and Expenditure Account
  • Statutary Auditor’s Report.

Sources for Additional Investments : Donations and Membership:

CSERS depends on various Donations / Endowments received from members of Chitrapur Saraswat Community from all across the Globe and also the fresh membership of the Institution under various categories mentioned earlier, which helps in building the corpus. This helps CSERS in generating additional interest income, in order to reach more and more needy persons.

Whereas CSERS Committee Members make every effort to approach various members of out community personally in most of cases and also by word of mouth on a number of occasions, there is need to step up these efforts in many other ways. It is the earnest request from CSERS to members of our community in general and especially to those who have availed of the benefit of aid in the past from CSERS and are settled down in their career, to come forward on their own and give donations and become members of the Institution.

CSERS was granted a Provisional Certificate under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, with Unique Registration Number AAATC1137EF20228 w.e.f 23.February.2022 and valid till 31.March.2024. Final Certificate is awaited.

Expectations of CSERS from beneficiaries

CSERS has been helping needy students for the past seventy three years and many of them have taken positions of responsibility in their career and have been very successful either in India or even abroad.

A few such recipients of educational aid have come forward and given substantial donation to CSERS and also have become members of this Institution.
CSERS is not at all considering that it is obligatory on the part of these recipients to come forward and make donations of becoming members. However, at the same time the Institution feels, that as a gesture of goodwill, these recipients should come forward and primarily make a substantial donation on their own and also become members of the Institution. This will help other deserving and needy students to reap the benefit in these days of high inflation in India.
